The transfer of Atlantica Online from Nexon to VALOFE Global Ltd.

First off, the average expectation when a company/publisher takes all rights of a product from another publisher, is that they themselves expect some sort of return. Whether it’s profit, a community, or a reputation. In many cases, alot of players agree that Atlantica Online’s battle system is unique, but unique won’t always get the publisher the money they want, which is why Nexon finally dropped it [it is to be noted they held the game for eight years]. VALOFE seems like a smaller company interested resurrecting Atlantica Online, but only time will tell.
VALOFE Phillippines [formerly Ndoors Phillippines (NDP)] is a former subsection/partner of Nexon, that became VALOFE Global Limited around eight years ago. They specialize in alot of smaller, mobile games, so it would be odd that they would take AO; however, they have owned other online games similar to AO, so it’s not completely out of their scope. Some people have rumored that they want to apply AO into tablets & mobile devices, which would mean a complete overhaul of the AO client…
Many Atlantica Online players think VALOFE is the same Ndoors that was the former “developer” of the game. VALOFE is not; Ndoors as a developer is currently affiliated with Nexon, and the development rights for Ndoors will stay, while VALOFE will inherit Nexon’s publishing rights. VALOFE has NA and EU sections that will be taking the responsibility of handling the NA/EU AO’s. The Korean AO has received conflicting information that should not be connected to the international side, so don’t confuse the two.
Basic Info on VALOFE:
- 2 game development studios in Seoul, Korea and Shanghai, China.
- Network locations: Beijing, Hong Kong, Shanghai (China), Tokyo (Japan), Seoul (Korea), Taiwan, Thailand, and Manila Philippines with more than 130 employees.
- Possess “Regional Publishing Expertise” in China, Taiwan, Thailand, and the Global gaming market.
- Publisher of several online game titles in China, Taiwan, Thailand, and the Global market with more than 4 million loyal gaming customers.

Guess what! VALOFE NA has finally announced the port date, and more information to go along with that. As if the wait wasn’t long enough, now we will want to be patient for 3 more months, and prepare for the transfer to VALOFE’s servers. If anyone was wondering, the account sign up with VALOFE is also in this new announcement, so sign up today, and reserve your VALOFE account for the port. For the EU players, there’s also an announcement on the “Atlantica Online EU” page, so you haven’t been forgotten either. As far as I understand how this will go, anyone that intends to keep playing Atlantica Online will want to register their VALOFE account within these three months so that they will not have a risk of losing their data. So to all of you who have been waiting, playing other games in the meantime, October 5th, 10:00 AM CEST is the moment to take action [or during these three months if you feel like procrastinating].

Alright, so now that we can transfer our character data to VALOFE, there may be a few minor issues you may run into… Like the possibility of already having an original Ndoors / VALOFE account, or you might accidentally transfer the wrong account to the wrong VALOFE ID. I’d just recommend taking things slowly; and if you have multiple accounts, repeat the steps over and over again. It was simple and painless for me, and I hope it will be just as easy for the rest of you guys, especially those not entirely fluent in english/german/french. And REMEMBER, we only have three months to sign up and “transfer” our accounts over to VALOFE; once that time is up, no one, not even older players that went inactive will be able to transfer their accounts!

So GM GalaxyEyes has given us another treat; to go along with the recent Transfer announcement, and on top of the former 1.5k and 2k “Likes” attempts, the third attempt, requesting 1k “Likes” out of it’s players has succeeded. AND not only did that post recieve the goal it wanted, the previous 2k “Likes” post has also achieved it’s goal! So on the bright side of the recent chaotic transfer process, we’ve at least got some nice rewards coming for us when we arrive into VALOFE’s servers on January 6th of 2017.
